Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of SpeakSpend, a mobile personal finance tracking app for iOS and Android. By creating an account or using SpeakSpend, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

What SpeakSpend Does

SpeakSpend helps users record expenses, income, transfers, split allocations, accounts, balances, budgets, recurring transactions, planned payments, savings goals, manual assets and liabilities, valuation history, tags, merchant rules, reports, forecasts, reminders, and related summaries. Savings goals, valuations, net-worth snapshots, and forecasts read app records and do not move money, connect to bank accounts, or create real-world payments. Voice entry is available as a convenience for creating editable expense and income drafts.

Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding agreement in your location and must not use SpeakSpend if you are prohibited from doing so.

Account Responsibility

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure, protecting access to your device, entering accurate financial records, reviewing voice-parsed drafts before saving, exporting your own data when needed, and signing out on shared devices.

No Financial Advice

SpeakSpend is a tracking and planning tool. It does not provide investment, legal, tax, accounting, banking, credit, debt-management, or financial advice. Budgets, balances, forecasts, Available to Spend amounts, charts, tips, reminders, and insights are informational estimates based on user-entered data. You should verify important amounts independently and consult qualified professionals before making financial decisions.

Voice Entry

Voice entry may misunderstand speech, amounts, dates, categories, account names, merchants, or notes. SpeakSpend creates an editable draft from voice input, and you are responsible for reviewing and correcting the draft before saving it.

Currency

SpeakSpend uses one app currency selected during onboarding. Records in unsupported currencies may be excluded from calculations that cannot safely convert them. The app is not a currency exchange, banking, tax, legal, or investment tool. You should not rely on SpeakSpend summaries for official accounting, tax, or financial reporting.

Offline Use

Supported changes may be stored locally while offline and synchronized when internet access returns. Sync can be delayed or fail because of connectivity, invalid records, account changes, storage limits, or service availability. Simultaneous offline editing on multiple devices is not supported. Voice entry, sign in, account deletion, and some backend operations require an internet connection.

Forecasts, Automation, And Reminders

Forecasts, recurring suggestions, merchant rules, matching, and reminders depend on the records and settings available in the app. They may be incomplete, delayed, duplicated, or inaccurate. You remain responsible for bills, debt payments, account balances, due dates, and financial decisions; SpeakSpend does not guarantee that a reminder will be delivered or that an estimate will match future activity.

Acceptable Use

You must not attempt to access another user's account or data, attack or overload the app or backend, abuse voice parsing or backend services, upload unlawful or misleading content, reverse engineer the service where prohibited, or use SpeakSpend for illegal activity.

Availability And Changes

SpeakSpend may be unavailable due to maintenance, network issues, backend outages, app store issues, third-party service problems, or changes to the app. Features may be changed, added, limited, or removed over time.

Data Export And Account Deletion

CSV export is available from the Records screen. Exported files are controlled by you after they leave SpeakSpend. Self-serve account deletion is available inside the app from More > Privacy & Data > Data Controls. Deletion instructions are also available at speakspend.com/account-deletion.

Subscriptions And Payments

SpeakSpend offers Free access and offers Pro as a paid, automatically renewing subscription on supported platforms. Pro is available as monthly and annual plans where offered. Subscriptions are purchased through Google Play or another applicable app store, not directly from SpeakSpend. Before you approve a purchase, the store shows the price and currency applicable to you, billing period, taxes where applicable, renewal terms, and any trial for which the store confirms you are eligible.

Eligible new annual subscribers may be offered one 14-day introductory trial. Trial eligibility is determined by the applicable store and is not guaranteed. Unless canceled before the trial ends, the trial converts to the annual plan shown by the store. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the price and frequency shown by the store until canceled.

You can restore eligible purchases in SpeakSpend and manage or cancel renewal through the subscriptions area of the store account used to purchase Pro. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current trial or paid billing period unless the store states otherwise. Deleting your SpeakSpend account or uninstalling the app does not cancel a store subscription; cancel it separately through the store if you do not want it to renew. Refund requests and billing disputes are governed and handled by the applicable store's policy.

SpeakSpend may provide complimentary or promotional Pro access, including early-user access. Complimentary access is not a paid store subscription, does not automatically renew, and may end on the date shown in the app. If Pro access expires or an account is downgraded, SpeakSpend does not delete existing financial records. Creation of additional plan-limited items and access to paid analysis may be restricted until Pro is restored or purchased.

Intellectual Property

SpeakSpend, its design, name, logo, app interface, website, and related materials are owned by SpeakSpend or its owner. You may use the app only as allowed by these Terms and applicable app store rules.

Limitation Of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, SpeakSpend is provided as-is and without warranties. SpeakSpend is not responsible for financial loss, incorrect records, missed transactions, service interruptions, data entry mistakes, voice parsing errors, sync delays, or decisions made based on app summaries.

Termination

You may stop using SpeakSpend at any time and may delete your account in the app. SpeakSpend may suspend or terminate access if the app is misused, security is at risk, or these Terms are violated.

Changes To These Terms

These Terms may be updated as SpeakSpend changes. The effective date will be updated when material changes are published. Continued use of SpeakSpend after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
